Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci was born on the 12th of November, 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast. She has the record of being recognized with 10/10 scores during an Olympic event. Bela Karrolyi, a Romanian gymnastics instructor who later became Comaneci's coach who first came across Comaneci at the age of six. The first time she competed at the junior national championships in 1969, finishing 13th. She took the title in 1970. At her first international event that was an preolympics junior event for countries in the Communist bloc, she was awarded three gold medals. In 1973 and 1975, she won awarded the All-around Junior Champion. In her first senior competition in 1975 she beat the Russian Lyudmila Turkishcheva. She was the five-time European champion who won four gold medals and one silver. The first female ever to successfully perform a backwards double salto while dismounting from an uneven parallel bar. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. In her teens Carol Wayne started working in the entertainment industry as a performer as a figure skater. Along with her twin brother Nina Wayne she was part of the traveling show Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne is a American citizen who was born on September 6 1942 in Chicago Illinois. Carol began her career in the entertainment business when she was a teenager. She started her career performing figure skating along with Nina Wayne, her younger sister in one of the touring entertainment programs Ice Capades. The shows featured ice skating that included theatrical performances.
